We're underway in this Confederations Cup contest.
Chile left it late to secure victory in their opening match of the competition against Cameroon. La Roja were thwarted for 81 minutes before Arturo Vidal broke the deadlock, while Eduardo Vargas made sure of the three points in stoppage time.
Germany got their campaign off to a winning start, although their victory over Australia was far from straight forward. Lars Stindl opened the scoring, but Tomas Rogic equalised towards the end of the first, only for Julian Draxler to restore Die Mannschaft's advantage. Leon Goretzka notched their third goal, but the Socceroos refused to go out quietly as Tomi Juric reduced the deficit. However, Joachim Low's men held out for the three points.
Good evening and welcome to the live commentary of the Confederations Cup Group B clash between Germany and Chile.
The winner of this contest will go through to the semi-finals and both teams will be desperate to advance without the potential for drama in the final group game.
The team news has been announced and we'll start with the world champions.
Low has made four changes to his side that beat Australia last time out. Marc-Andre ter Stegen comes into the side to replace Bernd Leno, while Niklas Sule, Matthias Ginter and Emre Can also come into the fold.
Alexis Sanchez gets the nod to start for Chile this evening as part of a three-man attack. Pablo Hernandez also gets the nod to start, with Edson Puch and Jose Fuenzalida dropping down to the bench.
The players are out on the pitch, so we should be underway shortly.
HALF-TIME: GERMANY 1-1 CHILE
It's all square at the break as Lars Stindl's late effort cancelled out Alexis Sanchez's opener. Chile will be disappointed to be heading into the break level as they dominated the majority of the opening period, but Germany kept themselves in the contest and were clinical when their one opportunity presented itself.
The players are back out on the pitch, so we should be underway shortly.
FULL-TIME: GERMANY 1-1 CHILE
Thanks for joining our commentary this evening. Until next time, goodbye.
The contest ends honour evens, which means that both sides still need a point to advance to the semi-finals. Alexis Sanchez's opener had put Chile in the lead, but Lars Stindl notched his second international goal before the break to level the scores. Neither side produced enough quality in the second half to add to the scoreline - with a draw probably the fair result this evening in Kazan.
