The referee has allowed play to go on. Much to the chagrin of Madrid’s fans. Sule floats a superb pass over the top, but Muller can’t quite latch onto it and, then, the referee blows his whistle!
90' +5
One final attack for Bayern. Can they muster something…
90' +4
Great work from Vazquez, who keeps the ball in the corner before forcing the ball out of play off a Bayern defender, causing the Madrid fans to celebrate as if their side had scored another goal. They’re nearly there…
90' +3
Sensational from Navas! Hummels finds himself in a fantastic position, but instead of shooting, he tries to tee up Lewandowski. A deflection causes the ball to loop up, but Navas lunges out to claim it before Lewandowski can get there.
90' +2
FREE HEADER! Could that have been the chance for Bayern!? Hummels meets a corner from the left, having got the better of Varane, but the defender can’t hit the target from close range.
90' +1
There will be five minutes of added time at Santiago Bernabeu. In all truth, Bayern should be furious at that. Madrid have spent the vast majority of the last ten minutes slowing this down as much as possible.
90'
Thiago drops a fantastic delivery into the six-yard box, but Navas does brilliantly to charge out and punch clear. Of course, the Costa Rica goalkeeper then stays down, slowing the game down even more and preventing Bayern taking this corner.
89'
Casemiro gets yellow.
Brilliant play from Muller, who steps Bayern’s play up a gear with a driving run through the heart of Madrid’s midfield, before drawing a foul from Casemiro.
88'
R. Varane gets yellow.
Nacho enters the game and replaces Marco Asensio.
It is Marco Asensio who makes way, trudging from the far side of the pitch - and taking as much time as possible to do so. Nacho will be his replacement.
Varane goes into the book for time wasting.
87'
Madrid are just starting to slow the play down, now, showing fantastic game management. Their players are staying down injured, and Zidane is now preparing another substitution.
Minute
Description
86'
Bale got through one-on-one with Ulreich, but a heavy first touch allows Bayern’s goalkeeper to come out and block it. However, the offside flag was up, and a goal wouldn’t have counted.
85'
That’s clever play from Kroos, who draws a late, clumsy challenge from Martinez, who is perhaps fortunate to escape a booking.
84'
Javi Martínez enters the game and replaces J. Rodríguez.
That act of sportsmanship will be James Rodriguez’s last action, as he now makes way for Javi Martinez.
83'
James shows good sportsmanship by kicking the ball out of play when Asensio is down with cramp, but some of his Bayern team-mates won’t be happy. The visitors were on the front foot, and there was no requirement to stop their attack.
82'
Wagner shows his worth with a great challenge on Casemiro, but Bayern are unable to take advantage on the counter. It’s one way traffic in the Bavarian’s favour at the moment, though.
80'
Thiago threads a clever revers out to Alaba, who despite slipping, manages to float in a dangerous cross. Muller is there to meet it, but Navas turns the header wide at the near post.
78'
Now it’s Sule’s turn to impress at the other end, the 22-year-old diving in to block Ronaldo’s strike from the edge of the box. The former Hoffenheim man has been brilliant tonight.
76'
That’s a terrific block from Varane, who gets across to deny James, who had connected well with Ribery’s delicate dink into the area.
75'
S. Wagner enters the game and replaces C. Tolisso.
Corentin Tolisso impressed in the first half, but the former Lyon man also played a part in Madrid’s second. He is making way now, with Sandro Wagner coming on as Heynckes hunts down a winner.
74'
Superb save! Brilliant again from Navas, who despite seeing the ball late, manages to parry Tolisso’s powerful effort clear. Ribery connects with the rebound, but can’t keep the ball under control.
73'
Casemiro enters the game and replaces M. Kovačić.
Madrid’s second change in quick succession sees Mateo Kovacic replaced by Casemiro, who is likely to just sit in front of the hosts’ defence as Zidane looks to lock Bayern out.
72'
G. Bale enters the game and replaces K. Benzema.
Indeed, here is Gareth Bale. Karim Benzema is the man to make way, to a standing ovation from Madrid’s home crowd. It’s the Frenchman’s two goals that, as it stands, have the holders heading into a third successive final.
71'
Zidane looks to be preparing two changes, with Bale definitely warming up. The Welshman seems to have slipped down Madrid’s pecking order, although he impressed against Leganes last time out.
66'
Vazquez has become Madrid’s second player to go into the referee’s book.
65'
Lucas Vázquez gets yellow.
This has been the Champions League at its very best - both sides in all-out-attack mode right from the off. Either one of them would make worthy finalists.
64'
James showed great restraint and respect by refusing to celebrate, but suddenly, the pressure is now very much back on Madrid. What a game we have enjoyed tonight! And there’s still plenty of time remaining.
63'
J. Rodríguez has scored a goal for Bayern Munich!
GOOOAAALLLL!!! BAYERN PULL ONE BACK! It’s that man James - against his parent club - who has got it! Sule, who found himself high upfield - delivered a wonderful cross that the Colombian latched onto. His initial strike was blocked, but he stays alert to connect with the rebound and slot home under pressure from Navas. Game on!
62'
L. Modrić gets yellow.
A first booking of the game goes to Madrid, who clattered into Tolisso.
61'
Madrid are on the ropes defensively, but have the presence of both Benzema and Ronaldo up top, meaning it could well be a case of all or nothing for Bayern, who desperately need a goal.
60'
How has that not gone in!? Hummels drills a cross-cum-shot across the face of goal that Navas does brilliantly to keep out. The rebound falls to Ribery, who can’t sort his feet out quickly enough so instead tees up Sule, only for the youngster’s first-time strike to be blocked.
58'
Muller should have done better after connecting with a loose ball in Madrid’s area, but the forward fluffed his lines. Marcelo wastes no time in launching a counter, sending a raking pass upfield that sets Asensio away, but Alaba is on hand to cover.
54'
What a miss from Ronaldo! After failing to connect with a low cross from Asensio, Ronaldo picks himself up to connect with a delivery from Marcelo on the opposite flank. The 33-year-old looked all set to hammer his volley home, but - like James in the first half - can only drill his effort over.
53'
No penalty! Lewandowski goes down in the area following a robust, late challenge from Ramos, but the official does not award the spot-kick.
52'
Bayern’s defence are all over the place, and Hummels has his goalkeeper to thank as Ulreich rushes out to head clear when the former Dortmund man’s decision to allow the ball to bounce almost allowed Benzema to capitalise.
51'
SAVE! Fantastic work from Navas, who adjusts his feet sharply to get down to his right and keep out Alaba’s powerful effort, which had taken a wicked deflection off Varane.
49'
Ulreich - for some reason - seemed to believe he could handle the ball from Tolisso's pass, only to realise at the last second he could not. The goalkeeper lashed out wildly at the ball with his foot, but missed it completely, and Benzema made no mistake.
48'
Ulreich has had a brilliant season deputising for the injured Manuel Neuer, but has just made what is possibly one of the most calamitous errors of his career, and almost certainly the most significant!
46'
K. Benzema has scored a goal for Real Madrid!
Bayern have got proceedings back underway at Santiago Bernabeu!
GOOOOOOAAAAAALLLL!!! WHAT AN ERROR BY ULREICH! Could that be this tie settled!? Dreadful from Ulreich, who makes a complete mess of clearing Tolisso’s back pass, and Benzema duly pounces on the loose ball to tuck home into an empty net.
45' +1
No penalty! Bayern’s players are demanding a spot-kick, after Marcelo blocked Kimmich’s cross. A penalty would certainly have been harsh.
45'
Tolisso has been at the heart of Bayern’s impressive display so far, and he tries his luck with a curling strike from 25 yards out. The France midfielder got the height right, but couldn’t generate enough swerve to hit the target.
44'
Alaba is furious with the referee, after the official decided not to award Bayern a free-kick following a neat bit of skill from the full-back, who seemed to be then scythed down by Vazquez.
43'
A rare bit of complacency from Kroos who, after good work from Benzema to rob James of possession, overhits his pass out to Marcelo, causing some moans and groans from the Madrid faithful.
40'
Ramos rises highest to meet the resulting corner at the far post, but can only direct his header into the side netting.
39'
CLOSE! Ronaldo engineers space for himself and quickly lets rip with a powerful low strike, which Ulreich does well to parry wide.
36'
Madrid’s fans and players aren’t happy, claiming that Lewandowski stamped on Varane down on the touchline. The referee was correct to allow play to go on, though, as there was very little malice in the challenge.
34'
WHAT A MISS! That is extraordinary! Navas does well to keep out Lewandowski’s venomous effort, but ball loops high in the air towards the back post. Muller manages to knock it back down into the six-yard box, where James is there to meet it, but the Madrid loanee somehow lashes his half-volley over the bar.
32'
Ribery causes havoc with a direct run straight at Madrid’s defence, who all back off the winger. The 35-year-old prods the ball sharply to his right, with Muller on hand to receive it. The Germany forward can’t get it out of his feet, though, and ultimately sends a tame effort at Navas.
31'
Benzema drops deep to link up with Modric, who then looks to thread a pass into Ronaldo. Sule, though, was alert to make a crucial intervention.
29'
CHANCE! That should have been 2-1 Madrid! Marcelo is put into acres of space in Bayern’s area but, with a queue of team-mates lining up close to goal, the full-back fails to pick any of them out.
25'
Should Bayern score another goal without Madrid responding, this game would go to extra time. However, 2-1 to Bayern on the night is the only result that would make this encounter go past the allotted 90 minutes.
23'
Ronaldo finally gets a chance to run at Bayern’s defence, but can’t get the better of Hummels at the first time of asking. The former Manchester United winger manages to maintain possession, proceeding to try his luck from far out, only to slice his effort well wide.
22'
Alaba once again finds plenty of space down the left, and chips in a decent cross that finds its way through to Kimmich. The youngster tries to find Lewandowski, but Navas manages to bundle the ball out of play for a corner.
20'
Bayern again expose Vazquez, with Muller drifting over to combine with Ribery and drill a low cut-back into the centre of the box. However, none of Bayern’s midfield had gambled on making a run to the edge of the area, and Modric manages to clear.
19'
Bar that early chance teed up by Benzema, Ronaldo has hardly been involved in Madrid’s play so far. The Portuguese star is making his 152nd appearance in the Champions League this evening; the most of any outfield player in competition history.
17'
Almost an opening for Lewandowski, who does well to beat Madrid's offside trap and spin clear of both of his markers, but the Poland striker slips at the vital moment, and Navas is out to gather it in.
16'
Kovacic has been handed a big responsibility at the heart of Madrid’s midfield, and he is repaying Zidane’s faith so far by putting in a dominant display in the anchor role usually occupied by Casemiro. The Croatian lacks the physicality of his Brazilian counterpart, but his passing range is excellent.
11'
K. Benzema has scored a goal for Real Madrid! Assist by Marcelo.
GOOOOOOOAAAAALLLL!!! MADRID ARE LEVEL! A brilliant move from the hosts sees Kovacic switch the play over to Marcelo with a wonderful pass. The Brazil defender takes a superb touch before delivering a fantastic cross, and Benzema is on hand to head home at the back post.
Benzema’s header was perfectly placed, but credit must go to Marcelo, who delivered a pinpoint cross after making a charging run down the left.
10'
Madrid have just managed to get their foot on the ball in recent minutes, as they look to get into their groove following that bolstering Bayern stat.
6'
CHANCE! Kroos slips a free-kick short to Benzema, and the Frenchman does well to cut the ball back towards Ronaldo. Muller had tracked the run, however, and manages to apply enough pressure to ensure Ronaldo slams his effort wide.
5'
Well, Bayern have got the goal they deserved based on the early stages, but - as it stands - Madrid would still head through on away goals. That will all change should the Bundesliga champions score again, though.
3'
J. Kimmich has scored a goal for Bayern Munich! Assist by C. Tolisso.
Bayern recycle possession though - Ribery and Alaba combining well down the left to get the better of Vazquez, who is likely to be targeted by the visitors as a point of weakness, but Navas gets to the Austrian’s cross.
Tolisso will get the assist, having helped the ball back to Kimmich on the edge of the six-yard box.
GOOOOOOAAAAAAALLLL!!! BAYERN ARE AHEAD! What a start for the visitors! Kimmich fired them in front in the first leg, and the defender is on the scoresheet again. Ramos failed to clear a cross from the right, and Kimmich reacted sharply to side-foot home from point-blank range!
2'
An early opportunity for James, playing against his parent club, to deliver some quality from a free-kick, and the Colombian does put in a good cross. Navas, who made a torrid error for Kimmich’s goal in the first leg, rushes out to punch it clear, though.
1'
Madrid, donning their classic white strip, get us up and running!
Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the second leg of Real Madrid’s Champions League semi-final clash with Bayern Munich.
Current holders Madrid are looking to make it to the final for the third time in as many seasons, while Bayern have not reached the final since 2013, when they overcame fellow Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund at Wembley.
Jupp Heynckes was the man in charge five years ago, and Bayern’s victory over Dortmund secured them a treble that season.
Heynckes took over from Carlo Ancelotti earlier this campaign, but is to be replaced by Niko Kovac at the end of the season. The 72-year-old has enjoyed a brilliant fourth stint as Die Roten’s boss, leading the way to another Bundesliga crown, and with the DFB-Pokal final also on the horizon, Bayern are still in the hunt for the treble.
However, Zinedine Zidane’s side stand in their way. Madrid are searching for a third consecutive Champions League triumph, and lead 2-1 from last week’s first leg courtesy of goals from Marcelo and Marco Asensio.
Real Madrid (4-3-1-2): Keylor Navas; Lucas Vazquez, Raphael Varane, Sergio Ramos, Marcelo; Luka Modric, Mateo Kovacic, Toni Kroos; Marco Asensio; Karim Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo.
Bayern Munich substitutes: Sandro Wagner, Javi Martinez, Rafinha, Lars Lukas Mai, Sebastien Rudy, Tom Starke, Niklas Dorsch.
Real Madrid substitutes: Nacho, Gareth Bale, Kiko Casilla, Casemiro, Theo Hernandez, Borja Mayoral, Dani Ceballos.
It’s an attacking line-up from Zidane, who makes three changes from the Madrid side that started in Munich. Daniel Carvajal suffered an injury in the first leg, with Vazquez slotting in at right-back late on, and the Spain international continues there from the start today. Asensio made an instant impact from the bench with his winning goal, and he is rewarded with a start in place of the injured Isco. Casemiro picked up a booking at Allianz Arena, and the Brazilian is replace by Kovacic, while Benzema starts alongside Ronaldo.
Bayern have been hit by injuries in recent weeks, but Alaba’s return to fitness has provided Heynckes with a timely boost. The Austrian replaces Rafinha and comes in as one of four changes, Javi Martinez and the injured duo Jerome Boateng and Arjen Robben dropping out, Sule, Tolisso and Thiago their replacements.
Bayern Munich (4-2-3-1): Sven Ulreich; Joshua Kimmich, Niklas Sule, Mats Hummels, David Alaba; Corentin Tolisso, Thiago Alcantara; Thomas Muller, James Rodriguez, Franck Ribery; Robert Lewandowski.
HALF-TIME! Hummels heads wide from the resulting corner and, with that, the referee blows the whistle to bring an enthralling first half to a close.
Kimmich’s third-minute goal handed Bayern the ideal start, only for Benzema - who has looked sharp spearheading Madrid’s attack - headed home the equaliser eight minutes later.
Bayern have been on top for much of the half, however, and can consider themselves unfortunate not to be back in front - James squandering a great chance to make his parent club pay for some slack defending.
FULL TIME! Real Madrid are through to the Champions League final, at the expense of Bayern Munich!
Devastation for Bayern, who put so much into this one - having piled on the pressure right from the off. Ultimately, though, it’s Sven Ulreich’s calamitous error that proved decisive in an epic clash at Santiago Bernabeu.
Despite Bayern’s onslaught, Madrid found a way - Zidane’s side through to their fourth final in five seasons, and a third consecutive Champions League trophy is now firmly in their sights!
That’s all from me for now. Until next time, goodbye!
Madrid are heading to Kiev, where they will await either Liverpool or Roma, who face off in the Italian capital tomorrow.
