Hello and welcome to live coverage of the Madrid derby as Atletico Madrid face Getafe at Wanda Metropolitano in LaLiga.
Atletico currently sit second in LaLiga and come into this game on a good run of form as they are unbeaten in 17 games in the league (W10 D7), a run that goes back to September. Getafe are also on a good streak after avoiding defeat in their previous five games in all competitions (W4 D1), including a win over Valencia in the quarter final of the Copa del Rey in their last match.
ATLETICO MADRID STARTING XI (4-4-2): Jan Oblak; Jose Gimenez, Diego Godin, Santiago Arias, Lucas Hernandez; Thomas Lemar, Thomas Partey, Rodrigo, Saul Niguez; Antoine Griezmann, Nikola Kalinic.
ATLETICO MADRID SUBS: Borja Garces, Toni Moya, Joaquin Munoz, Victor Mollejo, Juanfran, Francisco Montero, Antonio Adan.
GETAFE STARTING XI (4-4-2): David Soria; Bruno Gonzalez, Damien Suarez, Leondro Cabrera, Djene Dakonam; Mauro Arambarri, Nemanja Maksimovic, Vitorino Antunes, Francisco Portillo; Angel Rodriguez, Jorge Molina.
GETAFE SUBS: Mathieu Flamini, Hugo Duro, Leandro Chichizola, Sebastian Cristoforo, Jaime Mata, Samu Saiz, Ignasi Miquel.
The teams are coming out onto the pitch now, with kick-off just moments away.
Atletico lead 2-0 at the break through Griezmann and Saul after a fairly comfortable first half for the home side. Getafe did have a good spell of possession at the beginning of the half, but they kept giving the ball away needlessly which allowed Atletico to capitalise and they took their chances to put themselves ahead.
Getafe will need to improve in the second half if they want to find a way back into this game and get on the score sheet; their forward players haven't been making runs into the box which means that when crosses are put in, there isn't anyone there to get on the end of it. Atletico will be happy with their performance so far though and will be hoping for more of the same as they aim to close the gap at the top of LaLiga to two points.
That's all for today, goodbye!
Atletico have closed the gap to Barcelona at the top of LaLiga to two points once again and also extend their unbeaten streak in the league to 18 matches. Getafe remain in sixth following that loss, and could be leap-frogged by Real Betis if they win tomorrow. For now, Bordalas will be hoping his side can put this result behind them when they face Valencia in the second leg of their Copa del Rey tie.
