GOOOOAAAAALLL!!! SHAKHTAR 3-0 WOLFSBURG!! Three goals in a little over three minutes for Shakhtar! Moraes, the scorer of the first of those goals, keeps his cool when played clean through by rounding Casteels and slotting in.
90' +1
M. Solomon has scored a goal for Shakhtar Donetsk! Assist by Y. Konoplanka.
GOOOOAAAAALLLL!!!! SHAKHTAR 2-0 WOLFSBURG!! You wait all match for one goal... Konoplyanka brings the ball inside and plays in Solomon to his right. He sets himself for the shot with his first touch and buries the ball past Casteels with his second. As cool as you like!
Konoplyanka had two men on him but did well to hold them off and play in fellow substitute Solomon.
89'
Júnior Moraes has scored a goal for Shakhtar Donetsk! Assist by Dodô.
Dodo provided Solomon with an option and did well to look up and spot Moraes in the middle.
GOOOOOAAAAALLLL!!! SHAKHTAR 1-0 WOLFSBURG! Moraes makes certain of Shakhtar's place in the quarter-finals with a good finish late on. Solomon has the ball in the corner and seemingly nowhere to go, but he manages to feed it to Dodo and the right-back tees up Moraes near the penalty spot to do the rest.
87'
M. Arnold gets yellow.
Arnold is booked by the referee Ivan Kruzliak for a challenge on Krivtsov.
86'
Y. Konoplanka enters the game and replaces Taison.
Konoplyanka is brought on for Taison to give Shalhtar some fresh legs in the final third.
Klaus has only been on the field for a few minutes but he has already offered more than any of his team-mates in this second half. He makes a smart run in behind and gets a shot away, but Matvyenko gets in the way to help take some of the sting out of it.
85'
It may have been a different type of finale to the game had Brooks not got himself needlessly sent off, three minutes after Khocholava was shown a straight red card. As it, Shakhtar remain in complete control of the contest.
83'
F. Klaus enters the game and replaces J. Roussillon.
Klaus is on for Roussillon in the visitors' third change of the match.
82'
Taison gets to the byline and tries to pull the ball back for a team-mate, but it is cut out for another Shakhtar corner.
81'
Castro is happy for the tempo of the game to drop now, knowing that his side are around 10 minutes away from the quarter-finals. Another substitution is being readied by the hosts...
Minute
Description
79'
Shakhtar are still looking the side more likely to score the opening goal of the second leg. They have had the better of things today in terms of possession, shots and chances and fully deserve to be in the last eight.
77'
M. Solomon enters the game and replaces Marlos.
The changes keep on coming as Solomon replaces the impressive Marlos for the final 13 minutes.
76'
A free-kick is played into the box and is headed over at the back post, though the goal would not have counted even if it had gone in as Tisserand clearly handled the ball in the build-up.
75'
J. Guilavogui enters the game and replaces J. Brekalo.
The game has become very stop-start, which will suit the home side just fine. Guilavogui is on for Brekalo in Shakhtar's latest change.
74'
V. Kovalenko enters the game and replaces Marcos Antônio.
Castro turns to his bench by bringing on Kovalenko for Antonio.
73'
Schlager flicks the ball into the path of Joao Victor. He is in a good position around 12 yards out but the shot is blocked in front of goal.
71'
X. Schlager gets yellow.
Wolfsburg midfielder Schlager is the latest player to be booked, seemingly for dissent.
70'
J. Brooks gets a second yellow card and is sent off.
RED CARD FOR BROOKS! It is 10 men apiece now as Brooks is shown a second yellow card for catching Moraes on the chest with his boot. Wolfsburg's one-man advantage lasted for all of three minutes.
69'
GOOD ATTEMPT! The free-kick is laid into the path of Arnold to thump on target. Pyatov makes a pretty routine stop down the middle, but there is no doubt that the momentum is now with Shakhtar.
67'
D. Khocholava goes off after a red card!
SHAKHTAR DOWN TO 10! It is mixed news for the hosts. Khocholava made the contact outside the box, so it is no penalty but the defender is dismissed as he was the last man.
62'
Omar Marmoush enters the game and replaces D. Ginczek.
Ginczek is replaced by Marmoush in the first change of the contest.
61'
SAVE! Arnold takes on the free-kick, opting for power over precision. Pyatov pushes the ball aside - his first save of the contest.
60'
S. Kryvtsov gets yellow.
Krivtsov goes through the back of Ginczek and is cautioned by the referee. Wolfsburg have a free-kick around 19 yards from goal.
58'
Tisserand puts his hands in the air as if to ask who is there to aim for? Nobody, is the answer, as his deep cross goes straight out for a goal-kick. Wolfsburg have run out of ideas - if they had any to begin with, that is.
57'
J. Brooks gets yellow.
Brooks catches Moraes with his elbow when attempting to win an aerial ball and is shown the first yellow card of the contest.
56'
Roussillon is unable to control a long pass down the left and Shakhtar sweep up the danger. The visitors have still yet to register an attempt on target today.
53'
SHOT! Marlos has a go from 25 yards but it is aimed straight at Casteels, who makes no mistake with the save. Shakhtar are knocking on the door for the tie's fourth goal, which would surely kill things off.
47'
Taison is caught by Tisserand but the ball rolls through to Marlos. He strides forward and has a go from 25 yards, sending a dipping shot over the crossbar.
46'
RESTART! Shakhtar get us back under way in Kiev! The home side are 45 minutes away from a first Europa League quarter-final appearance since 2016.
45' +1
HALF-TIME: SHAKHTAR DONETSK 0-0 WOLFSBURG
45'
ONE minute has been added on at the end of the first half.
44'
The first half is fizzling out a little. Luis Castro will be the happier of the two coaches, with his side 45 minutes closer to the quarter-finals thanks to their 2-1 aggregate lead.
42'
Roussillon concedes a corner, which is sent in from the right and comes to little. Wolfsburg could do with getting their foot on the ball and putting together an attacking move.
40'
Patrick is bossing things in midfield. Shakhtar have taken complete control of the match as we approach the interval.
39'
The home side look very dangerous in the final third when Taison, Marlos, Patrick and Moraes link up. Wolfsburg have had a chance or two, though it is Shakhtar who deserve to be ahead in this second leg.
37'
Brooks brings down the lively Marlos and Shakhtar have a free-kick 35 yards from goal. Despite the distance being against him, Marlos takes on the shot and only succeeds in picking out the wall.
35'
WIDE! It is incredible that this game remains 0-0 on the day. Moraes is on the ball in a promising position, but the angle is slightly against him and his shot goes right across the face of goal.
31'
Wolfsburg, having survived a couple of scares, are now starting to build some sustained pressure. Another header is wayward but the visitors are having a bit more joy now.
27'
A deep free-kick is floated into the Shakhtar box but Brooks is unable to keep the header on target.
22'
That was good defending from Pongracic - had he not been there it likely would have been 3-1 on aggregate.
19'
The hosts are focusing on the counter-attack and it is a tactic that is working fairly well. It is Wolfsburg who need to score the next goal if they are to keep the tie alive.
17'
Wolfsburg's players seem reluctant to stick a boot in and stop Antonio as he weaves his way towards goal. In the end the ball runs loose and is cleared away.
15'
Patrick is proving to be the best player on the field so far. He set up a chance for Antonio and got away a decent attempt a couple of minutes ago, which Casteels did well to keep out.
13'
SAVE! Khocholava pings a 50-yard pass in behind for Dodo to chase down but the offside flag is quickly up. From the next attack, Patrick's low shot from range is helped behind by Casteels.
11'
OVER! Patrick holds the ball up in the box and lays it off to Antonio, who gets under the shot and sends it into the stands. That is the best Shakhtar have offered so far.
9'
SHOT! Wolfsburg turn over possession and the ball is played to Joao Victor down the right. He floats a delightful pass to Rousillon at the back post, but the first-time hit is blocked.
8'
Wolfsburg striker Weghorst once again pops up in a promising position but is unable to bring the ball under control. Shakhtar are knocking the ball around without really getting it into the final third.
6'
Weghorst makes a smart run in behind the opposition defence but the throughball to him is overhit and Pyatov gathers.
4'
Moraes is caught by Pongracic and lands awkwardly on his wrist. The Shakhtar striker, on target in the first leg, seems fine to continue.
3'
A poor touch from Pyatov allows the ball to roll behind for a Wolfsburg corner. Brekalo whips it into the six-yard box from the left and the Shakhtar skipper redeems himself by gathering with both hands.
1'
KICK-OFF! Wolfsburg, trailing 2-1 from the first leg, get us up and running in Kiev! Remember, Basel or Eintracht Frankfurt await in the quarter-finals for one of these sides.
Hello and welcome to our live text coverage of the Europa League last-16 second leg between Shakhtar Donetsk and Wolfsburg at the Kiev Olympic Stadium.
Shakhtar won the first leg 2-1 at the Volkswagen Arena in March through goals from Junior Moraes and Marcos Antonio, either side of a John Brooks strike. The Ukrainian side have since been confirmed as domestic champions for a fourth straight season and enter this game unbeaten in nine competitive outings.
Wolfsburg were thrashed 4-0 by Bayern Munich in their most recent outing on June 27 but did enough over the course of the Bundesliga season to finish seventh, meaning a qualifying spot in next season's Europa League. Oliver Glasner's side are looking to go all the way in this year's competition, with Basel or domestic rivals Eintracht Frankfurt awaiting in the quarters.
WOLFSBURG XI (3-4-2-1): Koen Casteels (c); John Brooks, Marin Pongracic, Marcel Tisserand; Josip Brekalo, Maximilian Arnold, Xaver Schlager, Jerome Roussillon; Daniel Ginczek, Joao Victor; Wout Weghorst.
Subs: Julian Justvan, Omar Marmoush, Josuha Guilavogui, Yannick Gerhardt, Lino Kasten, Luca Horn, Pavao Pervan, Felix Klaus, Tim Siersleben.
Both sets of players are making their way onto the field at the Kiev Olympic Stadium and kick-off is now just a few moments away. This match will be staged behind closed doors, as will every remaining game in the competition.
Shakhtar have looked particularly lively in the final third, with their front four being given licence to really get at the opposition. Wolfsburg failed to register a single attempt on target in the first half, yet it is they who need to score given they trail 2-1 from the first leg.
Wolfsburg's season is now officially over, a year after it started, while Shakhtar have a quarter-final against either Eintracht Frankfurt or Basel to look forward. The second leg of that other last-16 tie, which Basel lead 3-0, will be contested tomorrow.
That is all for today's live text coverage. Thanks for joining, goodbye!
