The teams are out, and kick-off will soon be upon us here at Wanda Metropolitano.
Simeone’s team were overtaken at the top of LaLiga by Real Madrid, who beat Cadiz on Wednesday night, but this is a chance to go back to the summit. Los Rojiblancos have been in fine form at home, losing just one of their last six LaLiga matches at Wanda Metropolitano. Huesca, on the other hand, are in 17th place but level on points with Valladolid below them. In the midst of a relegation battle, the visitors will be seeking to win their third game on the road in seven matches.
Simeone will be delighted with his team’s first-half performance and will want much of the same after the restart. Lodi has had plenty of joy down the left-hand side of the field, while Llorente’s selfless running in behind has created space for Atletico to exploit in central areas. Siovas’ early chance, meanwhile, will give Rojo Martin hope that Huesca can get back into the game in the second half. Mir and Okazaki have been far too isolated up top thus far, and that will need to change in the remaining 45 minutes.
That brings an end to our coverage of the LaLiga clash between Atletico Madrid and Huesca at Wanda Metropolitano. Thank you very much for joining us. Goodbye!
Atletico will hope to continue their winning form when they travel to face Athletic Bilbao next time out in LaLiga. Huesca, meanwhile, will look to improve their survival chances against Getafe. Both games take place on Sunday.
