There's a scramble inside the Man City penalty area after they fail to deal with a dangerous corner, but they're eventually saved by the linesman's flag when Ndidi is caught in an offside position at the far post.
85'
İ. Gündoğan gets yellow.
Leicester win back possession and counter-attack through Maddison, but the midfielder is cynically fouled by Gundogan and the German is shown a late yellow card.
84'
Chance for Foden! Man City keep piling bodies forward as they search for a second goal. Foden is the latest player to take on Ward, but he's put under pressure by Choudhury and fails to hit the target.
83'
A cross-field pass is fired over to the right flank and finds Mahrez in a promising position. The former Leicester winger cuts inside and takes on Fuchs, but it's the Austrian who comes out on top thanks to a well-timed tackle.
81'
Ricardo Pereira enters the game and replaces K. Ịheanachọ.
Iheanacho has made way for Pereira for Leicester, and it looks as if it's going to result in a change of shape.
79'
Man City were largely in control before Leicester's equaliser and now look slightly panicked as they try to find a way back in front. They've carved out some decent chances tonight but haven't done enough inside the final third of the pitch, resulting in them now finding themselves in a difficult position with 10 minutes left to play.
77'
Mahrez goes close! Foden darts towards the home side's box before setting up Mahrez to his right. The Algerian takes a couple of touches and shoots, but his low strike fizzes just wide of the far post after beating Ward.
76'
Gabriel Jesus enters the game and replaces S. Agüero.
It's an attacking change for Man City, as Aguero has made way to be replaced by Jesus.
75'
Man City quickly push forward from the restart as they attempt to immediately respond to Leicester's equalising goal, but they're unable to do so as the home side have plenty of bodies back to deal with the half-hearted attack.
73'
M. Albrighton has scored a goal for Leicester City! Assist by W. Ndidi.
That was excellent vision from Ndidi, whose lofted pass put the ball on a plate for Albrighton. Man City were caught slightly flat-footed, though, and will certainly be disappointed with their defending.
GOAL! What a strike by Albrighton! A lovely pass is fired over the top of the Man City back line by Ndidi and perfectly picks out Albrighton, who then fires a half-volley straight into the far corner of the net to make it 1-1.
71'
İ. Gündoğan enters the game and replaces K. De Bruyne.
Gundogan has come on to replace De Bruyne, who put in a good shift on his first start since the start of November.
70'
This doesn't look good for Ndidi, who has had to limp off after being caught. The resulting free-kick is sent in low and almost picks out Iheanacho, but the striker is out-muscled by De Bruyne before he can shoot from close range.
68'
Mahrez almost makes it 2-0! Aguero and Foden link up well on the edge of the hosts' penalty area before the latter tees up Mahrez, whose curling strike sails just a yard or so over the top of the crossbar.
66'
R. Sterling enters the game and replaces Brahim Díaz.
Man City have made their first switch, with Sterling coming on to take the place of Diaz.

Leicester win themselves a corner, which is quickly headed back over to Maddison on the right flank. The midfielder then manages to pick out Maguire with a chipped cross, but the latter's downward header is easily stopped by Muric.
63'
Big chance for Diaz! De Bruyne skips away from Choudhury and heads towards the Leicester box, where he tees up Diaz. The Spaniard has a great chance to shoot but takes a touch instead of doing so straight away and has to settle for a corner.
61'
M. Albrighton enters the game and replaces Iborra.
Leicester have made another altertation, with Iborra making way for Albrighton.
59'
Walker holds up the ball after darting down the wing and delivers a looping cross into the middle of the penalty area. It looks set to reach Aguero but fails to find the Argentine, allowing Soyuncu to chest the ball into the hands of Ward.
57'
Gray twists and turns over on the right flank before firing a curling cross into the box and over to the far post. Iborra rises high and tries to latch on to the ball but ends up missing out by a yard or two.

Leicester have made their first substitution of the game, with Maddison coming on to replace Ghezzal.

We're underway once again!
45' +2
HALF-TIME: LEICESTER CITY 0-1 MANCHESTER CITY
45' +1
Leicester are able to push forward on one final attack before the half-time break, with Gray and Fuchs breaking at speed down the left wing. The Austrian's final ball into the box is a poor one, though, and it fails to pick out a team-mate in front of goal.
45'
The fourth official has indicated that there will be one minute of added time.
44'
Mahrez takes on Simpson on the edge of the box before unleashing a cross-cum-shot that Ward does well to parry behind at the near post. Man City are unable to make the following corner count, as it's overhit and fails to find anyone inside the penalty area.
42'
More good play from Leicester, as this time Ndidi charges into the penalty area and unleashes a low shot that deflects behind for a corner. This time the set-piece bounces over to Maguire, who fires a first-time strike that comfortably clears the crossbar.
40'
The home side are starting to show a bit more attacking intent as we near the half-time break. They push bodies forward once again and are almost able to carve out a chance on goal, but Ghezzal is dispossessed inside the box before he can spin and shoot.
38'
Leicester push forward and manage to win their first corner of the game. It's whipped into the heart of the penalty area causing all sorts of problems for the Man City defenders, who are just about able to clear the danger before anyone can shoot.
36'

34'
Ouch! There's no love lost between Ndidi and Mahrez, with the Nigerian going flying into his former team-mate and catching him from behind. It wasn't the best of tackles but the referee decides to keep his cards in his pocket.
32'
Iheanacho is presented with a rare opportunity to break forward and run at the Man City defenders. He manages to reach the edge of the box and shoots, but his effort is overhit and fails to trouble Muric.
30'
Man City win back possession and push forward through Foden, who threads a clever throughball into the path of Aguero. The striker rushes through on goal and looks set to shoot, but the linesman's flag is raised before he's able to do so.
28'
Diaz has been one of Man City's standout performers so far, and he's certainly proving to be a handful for Simpson. Once again he makes a good run forward before trying to pick out a team-mate, but his pass is underhit and easily blocked by Ndidi.
26'
Diaz makes another clever run down the left wing before spinning and sending the ball back to Zincheko, whose curling cross causes problems for Soyuncu but is just about dealt with by the centre-back.
24'
Man City move the ball around nicely and set up De Bruyne to whip a cross into the penalty area. It's overhit but finds Aguero, who tries to control the pass but instead sends it bouncing out of play for a throw-in near the corner flag.
22'
Decent strike from Gray! The winger cuts inside from out wide and unleashes a low shot that is deflected towards the far corner, where Muric does well to tip the ball round the post and behind for a corner.
20'
Leicester break away on a quick counter-attack after dealing with the set-piece, but they're unable to make it count despite the amount of bodies they get forward and the move breaks down with Iborra.
19'
De Bruyne is clumsily caught a yard or so outside of the hosts' penalty area, leaving the referee with no choice but to award a free-kick. Man City are unable to make it count, though, as Mahrez's shot hits the wall.
18'
Diaz makes a clever run into the left-hand side of the Leicester box before cutting on to his right foot and shooting. His strike is deflected over to the far post, where Mahrez unleashes a thumping half-volley but sends it high over the crossbar.
16'
Leicester try to push forward after managing to win back possession after the restart, but a hopeful lofted pass from Soyuncu fails to pick out Ghezzal down the right flank and results in a throw-in.
14'
K. De Bruyne has scored a goal for Manchester City! Assist by N. Otamendi.
GOAL! There it is! De Bruyne cuts on to his right foot just outside the Leicester penalty area and isn't closed down quickly enough, allowing him to fire a brilliant strike straight past Ward to make it 1-0.
It was Otamendi who knocked the ball up to De Bruyne, but that goal was all about the Belgian. Leicester won't be too happy with their defending, though, as they allowed him to operate in far too much room.
13'
As expected, Man City have dominated possession so far, with Leicester being restricted to a few half-hearted counter-attacks. The visitors haven't carved out a great deal of chances, but it seems only a matter of time before they do.
11'
A lofted pass is fired over to the right wing by Zinchenko and manages to pick out Mahrez. The former Leicester winger is in a pocket of space and unleashes a low cross, but Fuchs is there to close down the space and stop it from finding a Man City player in front of goal.
9'
Vital tackle by Choudhury! Diaz cuts inside from out wide and plays a quick one-two before looking to shoot at the near post, but Choudhury is there to dispossess the Spaniard and poke the ball behind for a corner.
7'
Slightly nervy moments at the back for Man City, who are guilty of overplaying as they try to push forward. Garcia and Muric link up before Otamendi sends the ball back to the young Spaniard, and he almost loses possession to the onrushing Iheanacho inside the box.
6'
Fuchs dives into Mahrez from behind, resulting in a free-kick for Man City in a dangerous position. De Bruyne steps up and whips in a cross, but it's overhit and fails to pick out a team-mate in front of goal.
5'
Space opens up for Foden, who picks up the ball just outside of the Leicester penalty area. He skips past an attempted tackle from Soyuncu before shooting, but Maguire is there to throw his body in the way of the effort.
3'
After an even start to the game, it's Leicester who push forward on the first attack of the evening. Gray darts down the left wing and sends a dangerous cross into the box, but Garcia is there to clear the danger ahead of Iheanacho.
1'
We're off! It's Man City who get us underway.
Hello and welcome to our live coverage of today’s EFL Cup quarter-final between Leicester City and Manchester City at the King Power Stadium.
Today’s tie is a carbon copy of last season’s, when the two sides had to be separated by penalties at the end of a 1-1 draw. This campaign has been a slightly inconsistent one for Leicester, who were beaten on that evening almost exactly one year ago and are certainly going to have to be at their very best if they’re to progress this time.
Leicester have won within 90 minutes just once since beating Cardiff at the start of November, and back-to-back Premier League losses have resulted in them dropping into the bottom half of the table. Tonight’s clash presents them with the opportunity to bounce back against a heavily altered Man City side - something they really need to do if they’re to enjoy a successful festive period.
It’s been a tough run to the quarter-finals for the Foxes, who saw off Fleetwood Town in the second round before being taken to penalties by both Wolves and Southampton. Reigning champions Man City have had no such problems, though, as they easily got the better of Oxford United in their opening clash before beating Fulham 2-0 at the Etihad.
The defeat against Chelsea was a big blow for Pep Guardiola’s men, but they’ve nonetheless impressed across all competitions this season and managed to bounce back from that disappointment with back-to-back victories. They haven’t kept a clean sheet in five games, though, and their altered defence could be worked by Leicester’s impressive front three this evening.
There’s just over 15 minutes left to go until kick-off, so let’s have a look at how the two teams will be lining up this evening…
Manchester City substitutes: Philippe Sandler, Gabriel Jesus, Fabian Delph, Felix Nmecha, Ilkay Gundogan, Ederson, Raheem Sterling.
Manchester City XI (4-3-3): Arijanet Muric; Kyle Walker, Eric Garcia, Nicolas Otamendi, Oleksandr Zinchenko; Kevin De Bruyne, John Stones, Phil Foden; Riyad Mahrez, Sergio Aguero, Brahim Diaz.
Leicester City substitutes: Nampalys Mendy, Marc Albrighton, James Maddison, Ricardo Pereira, Wes Morgan, Eldin Jakupovic, Shinji Okazaki.
Leicester City XI (4-3-3): Danny Ward; Danny Simpson, Caglar Soyuncu, Harry Maguire, Christian Fuchs; Vicente Iborra, Hamza Choudhury, Wilfred Ndidi; Rachid Ghezzal, Kelechi Iheanacho, Demarai Gray.
The two sides are making their way out on to the pitch, with just a few minutes to go until kick-off.
So far, so good for Man City, who deserve to be a goal up at the halfway stage. They've certainly been the better of the two teams and managed to take the lead through a wonderful De Bruyne strike, but Leicester started to wake up towards the end of the opening period and are still well in this tie.
Leicester's plan seems to be to sit back and soak up the pressure before pushing forward on counter-attacks, and on a few occasions it's almost come off for them. There's certainly space available out wide, but so far they haven't quite done enough to make their chances count.
It's finished 1-1 at the end of 90 minutes, so it's off to penalties we go!
For the third EFL Cup round in a row, Leicester are going to have to battle from the penalty spot. They've certainly had a lot of practice this season but can they come out on top against the current holders?
It's Leicester who will go first, with Maguire stepping up to take it...
GOAL! No problem for Maguire, who makes it 1-0 with a low strike that just about gets the better of Muric.
GOAL! Gundogan equalises with a strike into the bottom right-hand corner of the net, where Ward dives but can't quite get a hand on the ball. 1-1!
MISS! It's a terrible penalty from Fuchs, who blazes it straight over the top of the crossbar. The score remains 1-1 with Sterling next to go...
MISS! Sterling can't capitalise! The England international tries a cheeky chip but gets it all wrong, firing his effort over the goal. It remains 1-1.
MISS! Another underwhelming shot, with Maddison's low effort comfortably being stopped by Muric. Still 1-1...
GOAL! The ball finally finds the back of the net once again, with Jesus' effort sending Ward the wrong and make it 2-1 to Man City.
MISS! A huge save by Muric, who guesses right and is able to hold on to Soyuncu's tame effort. It's 2-1 and Man City need one more goal to go through...
GOAL! There it is! Zinchenko fires probably the best penalty of the shoot-out straight into the top left-hand corner of the net to send the holders through to the final four.
FULL-TIME: LEICESTER CITY 1-1 MANCHESTER CITY (1-3 ON PENS)
Thanks for tuning into our live coverage tonight. Until next time, goodbye!
Despite losing, Puel will be taking to take plenty of positives from today's performance from his side. They did well to cause their opponents problems on several occasions - especially on the counter-attack - and will aiming to put in a similar display away to Chelsea on Saturday. As for Man City, they'll be in action against Crystal Palace.
